SUPPORT SLING

A sling can be used when there is an injury to arm to either immobilise it or to help the casualty to support it and prevent movement or strain.

Sadly this is one of the first things people always forget how to do but not with our method.

STEP 5

8. Support sling.png

Slip the sling onto the effected arm, the effected elbow goes into the right angle part, this should just have one loose end by the knot.

The other two corners you tied together (two loose ends by the knot) slip over the casualties head

Finished job

If the hand is too low simply untie the knot at the back of the neck, adjust and retie.

DISLOCATION SLING APPLICATION

A different type of sling for when there may be a shoulder injury such as a dislocation or other type of injury where you do not want pressure on the shoulder.
